In the Margins
In an overexposed world, artists are expected to stay on brand: consistent, legible, easy to grasp. In the Margins asked who they are beyond that projected self.
Twelve artists were invited to step outside what they are known for, with new subjects, new compositions, new means, or intimate stories rarely shown. Some pieces stayed close to their usual practice; others brought utterly fringe or confidential interests to light. Each came with a recording of its maker, speaking about why it mattered.
Not a survey or a thesis, the show was a humble gathering of fringes, one-offs, premises and try-outs: a space to experiment, be vulnerable, and redefine a practice in public.
Twelve short recordings, one for each work, in the artists’ own voices.
